Site Visit – Lindisfarne Castle Restoration Project22/05/18

This CPD offers a visit to National Trust, Lindisfarne Castle. The National Trust are undertaking vital conservation work to safeguard the future of this iconic landmark.

Brian Rochester, Senior Building Surveyor from the National Trust welcomes CABE to view the results of their 2 year restoration project.

The tour will showcase remedial solutions selected and utilised to rectify over 150 years constant pressure from the elements including:

Deterioration of Stonework and Pointing
Penetrating Dampness
Failure of Windows and other Building Components

The site tour will commence at 12.00 until 14.00 in line with tidal constraints. Please ensure you allow adequate time to travel and park. Estimated time from Lancastrian Suite is 1 hour 15 minutes.

Refreshments are available to purchase on the island, otherwise a packed lunch is advisable.

Parking charges may apply and car sharing is advised. Please contact your regional team if you are able to offer transport for others. Note some paths may be challenging for persons with limited mobility.
